King of the Court – Bishopscourt 17/10/2009
The weather for the drag racing was perfect, nice dry day with a cool crisp breeze, unfortunately the timing gear decided to spoil our bit of fun as there was a technical fault with it that could not be repaired on the day. Disappointing, but hell these things happen and rather than letting it ruin the day, we took the R32 off the truck and said we’d blow some of the cobwebs out of it none the less!
We didn’t do as many runs or boost as much as we would usually as we didn’t want to break anything when we weren’t getting true times.
The plus side of that was we got loads of time to meet and chat with new and old friends, it wasn’t all too serious so we got time to have a bit of craic and banter.
There was a good few Hondas up there this time, pushing out some nice times, one Red Civic I think in particular was knocking out low 12’s, until something busted, pity as we would have liked to see it run a few more times.
We were having a few problems of our own on the day, finding it hard to find 3rd and 4th gear at times. But we made it to the final regardless. But went down badly to the Willie in the RK Tuning R32 in the final and only managed 2nd place.
A big congrats to Willie taking 1st place and Alan taking 3rd in his Subaru.

Last but not least we would like to send our deepest sympathy to Rob’s family and friends (Tweenie Rob) of TR Racing. A legendary tuner of the Skyline community. A man of great humor, kindness, ability and a true gent, he will be truly missed.
