The 4-4-10 promises to be a superb day for car enthusiasts from all over ! Sideways racing club has brought drifting and drag racing together on the one day 4-4-10, this date will give both drifters and draggers a day out  to test there machines and put then through there paces.  The drifters will be battling for as much points as possible from RD2. The big Drag event of the day will be the Honda heads versus the Toyota heads, Time for all the talking to finish and the racing to begin.

This promises to be a great day for spectators, both drifting and drag racing, at the one venue, displaying some of the finest machines in Ireland.

Sideways-Racing have finally secured what is regarded as one of Ireland’s most desirable venues for motor sport events.
The 2010 Irish Championship is the ONLY series that will bring you the FASTEST machines in Ireland, guaranteed!
This event will be everyone’s first chance to see the current champions in action and we are all looking  forward to  seen their newly improved machines back in anger after the Winter lay-off.

Entry numbers will be very much limited to ensure that all drivers get a certain value for money.
(No-one wants to spend all day in a massive queue-athon!)

On-the-Day entries: £55 (Incl Driver + 1 spectator Free)

DRAG CLASSES Classes 1 – 4 are for production cars that are, or have been available on general sale to the public, including foreign imported models.
Any non-compliant vehicle (such as a racing special) will automatically be graded in the ‘Pro Class’.
A factor of 1.5 will apply to the capacity of forced induction rotary engines.
EG: 1300cc Rotary Turbo x 1.5 = 1950cc Turbo (Class 2)
TYRE CHOICE IS FREE IN ALL CLASSES:

CLASS 4. (EG: CRX, Saxo VTS, Corsa GSi)

Straightliner’s Enniskillen are proud to announce two full days of competition in 2010.

Road to Ten of the Best
If that wasn’t enough, the 11th April 2010 will represent a unique and privileged opportunity.
The ten fastest cars on the day will earn themselves an invitation to attend Ten of the Best at Elvingston Aerodrome, as members of the first TOTB Team Ireland, competing against some of the fastest machinery in the world.

We plan to start  running our 930HP R32 GTR Skyline in the Pro class, with the hope of breaking  into the Pro elite category  before the end of the 2010 season .

In Class 1 we plan to run our GTO which has had its engine rebuilt with a forged engine, and converted from twin turbo to one big single turbo ( HP unknown at this time ).

As everyone in the race business knows this is a time consuming and an expensive exercise, so we are now looking for sponsors for the 2010 season.

The weather was terrible, wind and rain was blowing the head off me. I kept saying we’ll head off home so… but eveyone that was doing the course were having none of it. So that kinda speaks for itself really. They were having a ball.

The highlight for me was Damo and Kav-GTS-T tearing the rear bumpers off the ProDrift cars – they were giving it loads.

I could see a great improvement in most drivers by the afternoon session, but I think the drivers that had a bit of driftng experience benefited the most. The Drivers with limited experience still had a great experince and fun. All were of the same opinion – that they would love to do it again. We also got the added bonus at lunch time to see the WKD cars out on a test session, them boys are serious drivers with serious drift cars.

I think the way ProDrift ran the academy day was great, they had 4 teams of 5 or 6, so each driver from each team would get 5 or 10 laps with the instructors, then the next team would have the same, and the next team would go. This gave all the drivers time to think of what they had done, where they made their mistakes and how to improve on the next turn. All in all it was a great day.
